China’s Jiangsu province crosses 100 GW solar milestone
Jiangsu Province has become the first provincial-level region in China to exceed 100 GW of installed solar PV capacity. Distributed systems account for nearly 70 percent of that total. Provincial authorities have stated plans to continue adding capacity through 2030 and 2035 while expanding grid, storage, and digital infrastructure.
The scale of distributed solar increases the need for real-time coordination between generation, storage, and demand across many smaller sites. Upgrades to digital systems are intended to support this coordination as penetration rises.
One practical implication is that grid and storage operators will manage larger volumes of variable output from dispersed assets rather than from centralized plants alone.
